Buying a home is the biggest thing most of us will ever do - and it can be stressful!
So we will try to do everything we can to make the process as painless and simple as possible. Our estate agents will explain what's involved and how long things take.
The most important question to ask is 'can we afford it?'
A qualified mortgage adviser will advise you about how much you might be able to borrow. That way, you'll know exactly what you can afford before you start going to visit properties that are beyond your budget.
It may be helpful to have a mortgage agreement in principle (AIP) before you start house-hunting, particularly if you're a first-time buyer. It's a document from a mortgage lender confirming that they will, 'in principle', give you a mortgage for a certain amount, which you can use to prove you'll be able to afford the property.
To make things easier, you can use the Government's Help to Buy scheme, so you have to save less for the deposit. Find out more on our Help to Buy page.
